Why re/making matters

The opportunities & challenges of living & working in today’s world have more meaning when we focus on the problem of waste materials. Making with discarded objects & materials - RE/MAKING - creates tangible physical change. It can also demonstrate to others how they might do it for themselves.

From whole exhibitions, to capsule collections; from prototypes to limited edition prints, Becky prioritises creative practice as the most effective approach to inspiring change.

    End of project showcase for the EUH2020 Trash-2-Cash project, at Dutch Design Week, Eindhoven.

  • Making Circles (2016)

    A showcase to coincide with the Circular Transitions conference, phase 2 of the Mistra Future Fashion programme.

  • Textile Toolbox (2014)

    A touring show of materials & prototypes from the Mistra Future Fashion interdisciplinary research programme.

  • Responsible Living (2012)

    A curated showcase that was commissioned by VF Corporation for an innovation summit, North Carolina, USA.

  • Jerwood Makers (2009)

    This touring show brought together UK makers selected by Becky and an expert panel, for the Jerwood Foundation.

  • Ever & Again (2007)

    Interim showcase of new recycled materials and products, from AHRB-funded ‘Worn Again: Rethinking Recycled Textiles’ project.

  • Well Fashioned (2006)

    21 UK designers featured in this touring show which was curated for the Crafts Council in 2006.
